tinySpell is a handy tool that checks the spelling of words in any Windows program in a matter of seconds. When you’re typing, tinySpell keeps an eye out for typos and notifies you instantly. Every word you copy to the clipboard is analyzed for spelling errors.
Names are treated as misspelled words by all spell checkers. Not only can tinySpell do this, but it also lets you add the “mispelled” words to a personal dictionary. There’s a similar pop-up menu option where you can choose from the suggested terms. Although this option may not be accessible on some user interfaces, tinySpell supports many alert mechanisms. The application will make a noise and alter the color of its system tray icon to alert the user that a typo has been detected.
Tinyspell is always there when you need it, yet it doesn’t get in the way or get obnoxious. If you make a spelling error, the correct version will appear in a box of a different color directly above where you made the error. If you click it, a long list will appear, containing every potential word you’ve ever tried to type. There will be an audible buzzer for every misspelled word or other error you make. You can turn off the beep if it becomes bothersome after a while, which is an option if you tend to make a lot of blunders.
