Windows 11 / Windows 10 / Windows 8 / Windows 7
The Intel Solid-State Drive (SSD) Toolbox is the company’s official SSD testing and diagnosis software (SSDs). The software can automatically recognize the disks that have been added to the computer and gather some basic data about them. Intel SSD Toolbox Download For Windows is, in general, only compatible with Intel disks. Features such as automatic speed optimization, a rapid diagnostic tool, a secure data erasure tool, and firmware version checking and installation are all included. Only SMART data and a few other details are provided for SSDs manufactured by third parties.
By the end of September 2020, Intel SSD Toolbox will no longer get any upgrades or support. As an alternative to the Intel SSD Management and Firmware Update Utility, Intel suggests customers switch to the Intel Memory and Storage Tool (GUI).
Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST) 11.0 or higher has the Trim functionality that can be used to optimize Intel SSD performance in RAID 0. The operating systems Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and Windows Server 2012 do not support the Trim on RAID 0 feature.
Be careful to familiarize yourself with the Intel SSD Toolbox User Guide, Readme, and Release Notes before beginning the installation process. A FAQ is also available for your perusal. If you’d want to keep these guidelines handy, printing them out is a good idea.
For nearly a decade, Intel’s SSD Toolbox has been the go-to application for maintaining Intel SSDs; however, the firm is now transitioning away from it in favor of a replacement app dubbed the Intel Memory and Storage Tool. Intel discreetly let everyone know about the switch by putting a note on the old tool’s download website.
