Internet connectivity solutions provider MikroTik has released a free utility package called WinBox Download For Windows. The company’s RouterOS firmware, used in conjunction with its network management software, gives users granular control over stability and a wide range of configuration options for data interfaces and routing.

To put it simply, IPv6 connectivity is supported. The IPv6 address of the router must be included in square brackets, just as it is in web browsers when communicating with an IPv6 server. Winbox’s new Neighbor Discovery feature can now locate IPv6-ready gateways. Each IPv6-capable router has two entries, one with an IPv4 address and the other with a link-local IPv6 address, as seen in the image below.

When everything is taken into account, this program proves to be quite potent. It will help people configure their networks like never before. The quick and simple installation was a huge plus for us. You probably won’t find comparable software anywhere near this pricing.

Accessing http://192.168.88.1 or your router IP in a web browser will also allow you to download MikroTik Winbox from your MikroTik router.
